Senior Manufacturing Engineer-

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join a specialist, market mechanical engineering company based in East London.

In a short space of time, my clients has accelerated the production for some of the worlds most innovative and largest companies and are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to take them to the next step.


  • Undertake continuous improvement projects to improve both the efficiency and quality of manufacture from international suppliers.
  • Improve the Right First Time KPI and work towards a true zero-defect culture.
  • Offer technical support and problem-solving skills to Clients, Production and suppliers.
  • DFM reviews and technical feedback to clients.
  • engineering, quality control, logistics, design and customer service departments.
  • Provide analytical support; suggest, calculate and monitor production KPI’s. Review internal processes vs outsourcing decisions and estimating future manufacturing requirements.
  • Identify and liaise with suitable suppliers, produce audit and requirement specifications, negotiate production rates and introduce new suppliers to the network effectively.
  • Be responsible for the preparation of technical resources for training purposes.
  • Project manage high value or complex orders where required.
  • Be an advocate of digital manufacturing and look to promote or introduce new standards and procedures for efficiency and automation.
  • Managing multi million pounds worth of spend
  • Implement robust procedures that can be automated through the platform, such as manufacturing change control.
  • Analyse capacity potential, optimise current network output and ensure the outputs of the various factory areas are balanced.
  • Be responsible for the creation, adoption and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Understanding of ISO9001/AS9100/IATF16949 standards and management systems ideal.
  • Maintain working relationships and strengthen feedback loops between production


  • A senior design or engineering background in a relevant environment.
  • A degree in engineering or a similar related field.
  • A number of years first hand experience designing and producing end use production parts made with CNC, Sheet Metal and Injection Moulding technologies at a minimum.
  • Motivated and ambitious to improve the current industry.
  • Technical knowledge of LEAN principles and other manufacturing theories.
  • Technical knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Project management skills and the ability to manage projects across departments.
  • Knowledge of managing and prioritising the workload of yourself and your team.
  • Complex problem-solving skills and knowledge using Root Cause Analysis, DMAIC or similar.
  • A hands-on practical approach.
