Engineering job applications increase by 16.5%

There has been a recent market boom in the number of applicants for jobs in engineering; applications are said to have increased by 16.5% since April 2018. In addition to this, the number of vacancies has increased by 3.1% and salaries for new jobs have grown by 1.5% year-on-year averaging at £36,710; another enticing factor of the industry.

With there being a current skills shortage the increase in job vacancies and higher salaries creates for healthy competition within the job market. CV-library reported that the amount of engineering candidates registering online had increased by 21.7% also highlighting that more individuals may be starting to consider looking for jobs.
